Tue Vu

Tue Vu is an AI/ML Research Scientist at Office of Information Technology, Southern Methodology University. He supports Faculty, Researcher, Postdocs, Grads/Undergraduates from 8 schools to work with SMU HPC, bridging the technical knowledge with AI/ML and GPU computing power to accelerate their workflow in their own domain knowledge.

His most recent study are into finetuning LLM models, Advanced Democratic RAG workflow with large Open Source LLMs like gpt-oss:120b, qwen3.5:122b, gemma4:31b; or Object Detection with Yolo, Faster RCNN and Image Segmentation with Mask RCNN.

In addition to research and consultant work, he teachs AI/ML workshops every semester at SMU main campus.

He is also NVIDIA Ambassador for SMU campus, licensed to teach multiple NVIDIA workshops on utilizing GPU for AI/ML projects.
